Cricket

Cricket season is underway and we've increased our memebr numbers and created a new team for Sundays in the Grantham & Melton League.

It's not been a great start but the teams have started to find their rythm and there is a lot of keen players in our Club.

Football

Football season is nearly finished and the visit of Aston Villa Old Stars was a success with over 200 people at the ground and money raised for charity, the ground and the football team - well done everyone who helped on the day!

One last football event which is the Sunday League Football Final on Friday 22nd May with the Kick off at 7pm.

POOL

Summer pool season has started and we wish well to our two teams:

Darts

Summer Darts League will start in the next few weeks with 4 teams playing from the All England, as we welcome the Genny 'B' team to the Clubhouse for their temporary home.

24th March 2009 - Great news to start the season as we work to gain sponsors for the 2009 season. Twinlakes have offered to be a team sponsor and are backing our First XI in Saturday League. We would like to thank Twinlakes for their generosity.

30th January 2009 - Game One of our winter lottery has been won by John Evans. Game 2 now starts on Saturday 31st January with a starting pot of £23.00. 

17th January 2009 - Game One of the Winter Lottery is still going without a winner yet!!!   Week 8 of Game 1 is on Saturday 17th January with a Prize Pot of £180.00 - maybe its going to be tonight!

17th January 2009 - Winter Nets are approaching, so its time to dust off the whites and get up to the King Edward School on Saturday 24th January at 4pm until 6pm. It would be great to see all current members but new players are also welcome - see you there.

 5th January 2009 - The 2009 Grantham & Melton League fixtures are out and I've posted our fixtures on the Sunday Fixtures tab on the left navigation bar.

4th January 2009 - Winter Lottery Game 1, now moves into Week 7 with the next draw on Saturday 10th January 2009.

 The Prize Pot now stands at £158.50 .

27th December 2008 - Winter Lottery Game 1, Week 6 is on Saturday 3rd January 2009 with the Prize Pot standing at £135.00 - 1 player is on 5 numbers, 7 players on 4 numbers.

20th December 2008 - Winter Lottery Game 1, Week 4 is on Saturday 20th December with the Prize Pot standing at £90.00 - Good Luck everyone!

20th December 2008 - Winter Nets have been rearranged due to exams and will now start on January 24th between 4pm and 6pm.

AGM Report.

Many thanks to everyone who attended the AGM, it was good to see a stronger attendance than we have seen in a few years. I will report the officers after our next monthly meeting which requires some appointment confirmations after non attendance.

As most will be aware our AGM is at 7pm on the eve of Friday 21st Novmber at the All England Sports Ground.

Any new members or volunteers are welcome as well as all current club members.

 Many thanks to everyone who attended our Awards evening, a successful night was enjoyed by 60 members and guests over the evening and finished off with local band 'TARNISHED' who sang us through the night.

Winter Nets Booked

 The winter nets have been booked and will start on Saturday 10^th January at King Edwards School Sports Hall, 5pm - 7pm. 

 And hopefully we will have a qualified coach on some occasions to assist with some technical improvements (we are working in that right now)

• Melton Mowbray Cricket Club has confirmed the 2008 AGM for Friday 21st November.

All players, members, volunteers and guests are invited to as we start preperations for the 2009 season.

• Melton Mowbray Cricket Club is now on FACEBOOK. There is also an event link for our presentation evening, so if you haven't taken up the delights of facebook as yet, now is the ideal oppotunity. The sites also have walls upon which you can 'graffiti' away to your hearts content (please keep it decent!)

• Until recently I have been putting all football fixtures on this website for the season as they are played at the All England Sports Ground, however, the football fixtures can change regularly, so to prevent any confusion we will take advantage of the MMFC's new website.     MMFC FIXTURE LINK

• A Few changes to the pages on this site. The Results page will change to represent the All England Sports Ground Darts Team and the Clubhouse Diary will change to represent our Pool teams, the Fuldericks and the Sly Shots. I hope regular visitors will find this more useful.
